Micro-Jamming

What to do with one lonely gooseberry bush?

Gooseberry bush

Harvest its berries, and make a jar of jam!

Gooseberries

Freshly picked berries

After being tidied up: 110 grams of gooseberries

Simmering with a splash of lemon juice and water
After some time, the berries break down and turn to mush

Measure an equal weight of sugar...
...and add to the berries

Keep cooking until the bubbles start looking sugary

Pour into a jar for safekeeping

Eat on toast!

Thanksgiving Bike Ride

A sunny Thanksgiving weekend was the perfect opportunity for a bike ride. We started down to the river:

Houses of Parliament

Nepean Point and the National Gallery

And then turned up the Rideau Canal

Bytown Museum and locks

Alexandra Bridge and locks on the canal

Rideau Canal

And finally into the Experimental Farm:
