My Daily Commute

The first things I see on stepping outside is the tower at which Kingston's undesirables would meet their end. A constant reminder that Kingstonians do not tolerate felonious behaviour.

Looking back at the tower where I live...

Then down the path and past the university school of education

Across the road is the old women's prison

Turning up Union Street the next landmark is Bearance's grocery and butcher. It would be very convenient but for the fact that it's always closed by the time I walk past.

A few blocks later on the left is the Union Street Gospel Chapel. The keen eyed Novocastrian will notice that it sits on the corner of Collingwood - that heroic Geordie is known far and wide!

A couple of houses in the mock-English style

The first glimpse of the main campus up ahead

Here is Goodes Hall and the Stauffer Library:

I take a right at the corner of Union and University...

...then cut through between Douglas Library and Ontario Hall...

...before seeing Jackson Hall in front of me:

As this was a Sunday, I found Paolo taking a break from his thesis to have a quick play!

  1. Hi Tony, it's Ellie. Wow, Kingstonians really don't tolerate much, do they? Undesirables, or old women. Yikes! :)
